Crafters Combating COVID
for fabric, supplies, and shipping
In mid-March, four friends started a social media group to exchange tips and ideas about making fabric masks for Michiganders. Today, we have thousands of members who astound us every day with their generosity of time, supplies, and labor in order to protect complete strangers. Our group administrators have tested and verified each of our patterns, ensuring we’re using the materials, guidelines, and protocols that health experts say offer the most safety for mask wearers. And we’ve streamlined distribution, so that our group members and those we give masks to always stay safe under Michigan’s stay-at-home order. Each and every one of us is a volunteer. Each and every one of us is here to keep others as safe as we can. And though we have to be apart right now, we know that there’s no other place we can be than in this fight together.
